Amber Paper

by Céline Perdriel
A dry and delicate amber, like the touch of a sheet of paper. Ambre Papier showcases a very pure, almost abstract amber, like a material one feels more than understands. Here, we are not dealing with a heavy or classic oriental amber, but with something dry, delicate, almost ethereal, reminiscent of the touch of paper.

The Fragrance

Ambre Papier opens with a soft, slightly resinous sensation, with a discreet but present warmth. Then the amber develops, but transparently, as if filtered, with a slightly powdery and dry side that gives it a lot of elegance. Afterwards, the fragrance becomes more enveloping, with musks and woods that provide a soft and clean texture. There is something very minimalist, almost silent, like a scent that stays close to the skin and reveals itself gently. It is a very modern, subtle and sophisticated amber fragrance, which plays more on texture and sensation than on power.

The brand

Atelier Materi is a French perfume house founded in 2019 by Véronique Le Bihan, who hails from Brittany. This origin is reflected in the brand's identity, influenced by raw, mineral landscapes, and an approach to perfume centered on raw materials. Each fragrance is built around a main ingredient, developed to highlight its different facets rather than diluting it in a complex structure. The compositions remain clear, with a limited number of materials organized to support this central focus. The brand's universe also draws on architectural references, with a quest for clean lines, structure, and balance. This is evident in the design of the objects, particularly in a blue tinted glass bottle and a handcrafted concrete cap, the result of artisanal work. Finally, Atelier Materi prioritizes controlled production, relying on identified partners and artisanal know-how, with manufacturing predominantly carried out in Europe.
